Can anyone tell me what triggers the final deletion of items in the Trash in a Mail application? Is it an agent on the server? Is it an admin process on the server? Is it something that fires when the Mail application is closed?
What actually does it?

For dbs where soft deletions are enabled, once the soft-deleted document is older than the hours value specified on the Database Properties Advanced tab, the Update task hard deletes it as it performs indexing tasks on the db.

I did know where the setting was. My question was what task, agent, etc. actually accomplished the delete. That has been answered by another post.
