Soft Delete Not Working

Hi:

I’m having trouble getting soft delete to work correctly on clients I’ve upgraded from 5.0.12 to 6.5.3. When the client deletes mail it goes into his/her trash folder, BUT it doesn’t stay there for the default 48 hours. Deleted mail disappears from the trash folder within anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.

Based upon other posts in this database, I have checked the following settings:

  1. Database Properties - Advanced Tab - “Allow soft deletes” is enabled and “Soft delete expire time in hours” is set to 48.

  2. Database Properties - Info Tab - “ODS version:” is 43.

  3. File - Preferences - User Preferences - “For trash that is not emptied at a timed interval, empty the trash folder” is set to “Manually”.

  4. Mail Preferences - Basics Tab - “Soft Delete expire time in hours” is set to 48.

  5. I have compacted the database several times.

  6. I did a design replace, from the mail6.ntf template.

Nothing has worked. Have I missed something?

Their is a bug in 6.5.3The server needs 6.5.3 hotfix1

Thanks for the info. Ken.

However, I’m not sure we’re having the same problem that’s described on the fix list.

We ARE on release 6.5.3 FP1 already and we are experiencing the problem I described.

I’m thinking there’s a new bug in our release.
