Soffice.exe

When using the standard Notes client with Symphony installed, soffice.exe appears to be loading into memory at machine bootup time even though I have that option turned off (unchecked) in the Preferences. Anyone else seeing this?

We do not reproduce the problem. Please check if you installed OpenOffice or standalone Symphony, they may preload soffice.exe into memory while OS start up according to their preference settings. Thanks.

I found an SODCPreload entry in my registry and deleted it. I then tried setting and unsetting the checkbox in Preferences (and restarting), and now the preload option seems to be working properly. Apparently the registry entry was an artifact left over from a previous install. Thanks for the help!

Subject: You may disable SODCPreload

You may open File > Preferences > IBM Lotus Symphony,Uncheck the option of ‘Launch Lotus Symphony in the background when the operation system starts’.

Restart machine and run msinfo32, check if soffice.exe is under the directory of Lotus Notes

If not, it’s launched by either Lotus Symphony or OpenOffice.org
