Snow Leopard support?

As Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is released today, it would be nice to get an update on Notes client support for the new OS.

Subject: Snow Leopard Support in 8.5.1

8.5.1 has not been fully tested or certified for Mac OSX release 10.6, and is therefore not supported. We have completed preliminary testing on the seeds released by Apple and will continue to test on Apple’s final 10.6 build. A few minor issues have been found so far, which will be collected and technoted for 8.5.1. We are working closely with Apple to ensure that incompatibilities are identified and resolved.

At this point, we do not recommend production deployment of 8.5.1 on 10.6. A statement of support will be released as soon as platform certification test is complete. Please feel free to post any issues you may find, but be aware that we have not yet completed testing of 8.5.1 against 10.6.

Subject: seems to run just fine

8.5.1 beta on Snow Leopard 10.6.1 seems to be ok, toolbar and folder icons are not missing.

Subject: but selection boxes on replicator page are still missing

Subject: nope folder “twisties” are not visible

so it’s just toolbar icons that work…compared to 8.5FP1

Subject: No Twisties Solution

I have just installed the Snow Leopard update 10.6.2.

The twisties have returned and subfolders can be accessed once more.

Also selection ticks in the left hand margin of the window can be applied.

Subject: clarification

Toolbar icons work in 8.5.1 if you run it in Eclipse mode not in Basic mode (you can switch to it by adding UseBasicNotes=1 to Notes Preferences file in your ~/Library/Preferences folder)

Subject: what about the spell checking?

Does this combination fix the problem with the highlighting of the misspelled words?

Subject: Problems with Notes 8.5 with Snow Leopard

I installed Snow Leopard and I am running Notes 8.5 with FP1. After installing Snow Leopard, I now cannot see the folder expansion triangles on sub-folders and I can no longer see one column in the inbox which displays if an e-mail has been forwarded or replied to. I also cannot see Sametime status in the inbox!

Subject: Can’t see selection-marks

I installed Snow Leopard and I am running Notes 8.5. Same problems than Erik. Additionally I can’t see the marks if I select multiple emails. But they are selected: I can see the amount of the selected emails in the status bar.

Subject: More symbols missing

Additionally I can’t see the icons on the date-chooser-buttons (e.g. when creating a new meeting). Also the little arrows to change the month inside the date-chooser aren’t visible. The up- and down-arrows when changing the time of a meeting are also missing.

Subject: Are you using the 8.5 mail template?

I have some of the symbol problems reported, particularly in the calendar settings (but things still work if you click where the icons are supposed to be). However, some of the described problems make me wonder if you’re using the 8.5 mail template. For example, folders have a folder symbol with a square box with a plus or minus icon, not a twistie. I see these with Snow Leopard. I also see the sametime status icon, for example. In the mailbox, when I select documents, there’s not a checkmark, but the whole line in the view is highlighted, and this works in Snow Leopard. In some older apps that used to show the checkmark when documents were selected, I don’t see the checkmarks and only know documents are selected by the number showing in the status bar. But as mentioned, this is not a problem in the mailbox.

Subject: Selection boxes missing on replication tab

I have a user recently deployed on a MACBOOK Pro, 10.6 OS and he has lost the “selection” boxes on his replicator tab - neither the Enabled nor the High Priority check boxes are visible. He cannot enable his contact synchronization and therefore it does not automatically occur. He can manually synchronize by right-clicking on the Synchronize Contacts line and selecting “Replicate Selected Application”.

Subject: Another OS 10.6 problem

Using Notes 8.5 sp 1 under Mac OS 10.6 the spell checking (highlighting of misspellings) has stopped working.

Subject: Missing Folder Expansion and Checkmarks as well

Hello all,

I have a company supplied (required) template and I can confirm two problem. 1) no checkmarks and 2) no folder expansion/disclosure items.

Subject: CTLoader error

On startup, I get an Alert message “CTLoaderToolbar has not been tested on this version. Tool Bar bundle will not be loaded.”

I use a custom mail templte created from the 6.5.2 template

Subject: Toolbar icons not visible

After updating mac os X 10.5 to 10.6 Snow Leopard the toolbar icons do not appear in my Lotus Notes client 8.5 FP1.

(If I select to show the text in stead of icons in the tool bar preferences I can see the text. When selecting the ‘text and icons’ I only see the text).

(Besides that I have the same problems with the (mail) sub map item triangles and selection marks as mentioned by others).
