Subject: SMTP task is for receiving Intenet mail / ROUTER sends internet-bound mail

Hi Jean Michel,

the SMTP tasks is responsible for the SMTP Server (the one that receives connections from SMTP Clients - other SMTP hosts sending mail your way).

When you stop the SMTP task, you stop receiving mail.

ROUTER, on the other hand, is the one responsible to act as a SMTP Client so that it connects out to SMTP Servers on the Internet. Thus, it is the task responsible for sending outbound internet mail.

When you stop the ROUTER task, it stops sending SMTP Mail (as well as the usual Notes/Domino Mail Routing).

Best Regards,

Daniel
