SMTP Server Shut Down Hangs

I enter the “quit” command on the Domino console and the server begins the shut down process. It gets to POP3 Server: Shutdown complete, and then hangs and does not finish the shut down.

Any idea why?

Perhaps there is an open connection to a client? You could try using netstat to see if there is an active connection.Alternatively, you might be able to get more information if you start nsd and do a dump of all threads. This may give you some idea on what its hung on.
