SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for

Hello,

I upgraded a domino server from 8.5 to 8.5.1 with LP German.

Now the server stopped receiving and sending e-mails.

Following message in the log:

SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for

SMTP Server: disconnected. 0 message[s] received

At message “SMTP Server: Authentication is not enabled in the SMTP Internet Site Document for” is nothing behind “for”.

It was only a update of domino/traveler server with same Server- and configuration-documents. Nothing changed.

Traveler version was updated from 8.5.0.1 to 8.5.1.0.

What i have allready done is:

  • All IP addresses for the domino servers are added to the SMTP Internet site document

  • I have checked the $InternetSites view, and can see all my SMTP internet site docs listed

  • I have allowed Anonymous and UserName/Password connections.

  • Stopped and started the SMTP service after each change that I tried

  • Create a new SMTP Internet site document with same values.

  • Stopped and started domino server

Thanks in advance

Subject: Possible solution

Try:

load updall -R names.nsf

I had this error msg recently when creating a 2nd server in an existing domain. The cause for me I think was the “SMTP Inbound Site” doc not having the correct fully qualified server name in the “Host names” field.

Doesn’t sound like your problem, but thought I’d chuck it in in case.

Thanks.

i also tried to resolve this problem in this way.

I also changed the template of names.nsf to 8.0.2 version of pubnames.ntf, fixup, compact, updall. I’m very confused :frowning:

The only way i receive and also can send mails is when i disable the use of internet site documents in the server document (Server document/Basic Tab).

Subject: Solved !!!

Hello,

i was able to solve this problem with an english version of pubnames.ntf, save smtp inbound document, updall restart domino server.

Now i have an english version of public addressbook. It is nonsatisfying but better then a buggy german template of pubnames.ntf

I’m not very happy about that.

Subject: Same problem on LP ITA

I have had the same problem with every Domino R8, and still in 8.5.1.

Seems IBM doesn’t want to fix
