SMTP Routing Problem

Hi All,

We have a global address book with a number of users which are in another company who themselves have domino. We route to them using non-adjacent domain documents.

We need all mail to route directly over the internet.

We have the following configured:

SMTP allowed within the local internet domain:

Relay host for messages leaving the local internet domain:

If we remove the adjacent and non-adjacent documents we get domain not found. We need domino to use the internet addresses in the directories.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Subject: SMTP Routing Problem

Adjacet domain documents are for Notes mail routing, not SMTP that I know off. There are Foreign SMTP documents that you may use in some situations.

If you are using the a Relay Host, your DNS has to solve the hostname.

If you are specifying an smtp domains name, the DNS has to resolve the MX records for this domain.

If you just want to route all SMTP traffic to the other server for relaying, just use a hostname or IP address.

If this is not enough information for you, please explain better your intended topology.

Alexandre.
