SMTP Routing (internal mail)

Hi all,

I’m completely new to Domino enviroment and needs some help in fixing the routing issues

i am having problem sending mail on the same server using internet mail address. I tried googling but in no solution. Following are the details please help me out

1)I have a single domino server 853

  1. i have one user in domino directory with internet mail address available in his person document

3)Sending mail with GAL address works fine. But sending mail with internet mail address (local email address) is not working

Router: No messages transferred to DOMAIN.COM (host mail.DOMAIN.COM) via SMTP

Router: Error transferring message id via SMTP to mail.DOMAIN.COM Maximum hop count exceeded. Message probably in a routing loop.

try composing a email using telnet to confirm no firewall ot ip blocking of email .

As per you told I tried telnet with SMTP of the server

The sender and recipients are accepted and message completed. But in domino console, I saw …not routed might be in loop. Might be moved to dead mail

From telnet, the final message is 250 Message accepted for delivery. But mail not reached to the user.

Same time in domino console during telnet SMTP is

From the domino server that routes your smtp email

bring down domino

using telnet send a email to a outside of the company address and see if it get there. I am thinking it is being blocked and it just keeps bouncing.

If you can get that working then check you global domian doc to make usre you next ip address is correct
