SMTP Relaying Denied

I have some trusted hosts under “Exclude these connecting hosts from anti-relay checks”. Also I set “Exceptions for authenticated users” to “Allow all authenticated users to relay”.

The exlude functions works well.

The other not really.

Here is an example :

06.03.2007 10:39:42 SMTP Server [0818:0008-0C5C] Connection from cust.dyn.83-173-213-25.cybernet.ch rejected for policy reasons. Connecting host is denied in your configuration.

06.03.2007 10:39:42 SMTP Server: cust.dyn.83-173-213-25.cybernet.ch (83.173.213.25) connected

06.03.2007 10:39:42 SMTP Server: Authentication succeeded for user Paul Maechler/Hydra ; connecting host 83.173.213.25

06.03.2007 10:39:42 SMTP Server: cust.dyn.83-173-213-25.cybernet.ch (83.173.213.25) disconnected. 0 message[s] received

Host is dynamic 83.173.213.25 is not in the excluded list.

Makes me wonder why that is not working. Seems to me like priorisation problem. I’m authenticated but not in the exclude list.

Any help is really appreciated.

Subject: SMTP Relaying Denied

For enabling authenticate user for relay you must enable name and password authentication for SMTP Check inyour configuration:

Server document :

Selecting the Ports → Internet Ports → Mail tab.

Enabling “Name & password” authentication for SMTP Inbound Mail.

  1. Save and close.

  2. Restart the Domino SMTP task.

This is not in the server doc anymore but under “Servers\Internet Sites - SMTP Inbound”.

Anyway i think authentication works. But I’m kicked out because the list of “relay server”
