When I send a message to a certain email address, the email is returned undelivered with the following message:
Error transmitting to mail-relay.uni2.dk; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 554 XX@XXX.no: Relay access denied
I am struggling so any help appreciated

There could be several things here but it does look not the be you.
What it might be is the person you are sending to uses the MAIL.RELAY.UNI2.DK as its SMTP route. For what ever reason that relay information has been lost. For reasons unknown (posible changed ISP and waiting for MX records to change).
There are other posibilities and that could be there is another SMTP service at the address @RUNI2.dk fighting for ports.
Are you able to call/or contact the recipient to see if they are receiving mail?
And the other thing you could do is a WHO IS on the address you are sending to.
