SMTP Problem

Hi all

I have a weird problem.

All was working ok until last friday. Some email users use MS Outlook to read their mail, but, since last friday they get a error message “the server is not responding” when they are trying to send email using Outlook via SMTP. They can read all their email using POP3.

I scan ports on my server and I get this:

201.130.1.62 is responding on port 25 (smtp).

201.130.1.62 isn’t responding on port 23 (telnet).

201.130.1.62 is responding on port 53 (domain).

201.130.1.62 is responding on port 80 (http).

201.130.1.62 is responding on port 110 (pop3).

201.130.1.62 is responding on port 21 (ftp).

Any idea why is this problem and how to fix it ?

check out whether your users’ outlook clients connection configure well.(c’z some but not all your users client working).it’s really weird !

Does your Domino server have any messages at the moment that they try to connect? If it doesn’t you can be sure that the problem is not Domino related. It could be in your companies DNS as Notes clients often use other ways to find their Domino servers.
