SMTP on 8.0.2 Server

I’m experiencing something weird and I’m at a loss as to what to even try…here’s the situation. I recently upgraded our SMTP server to 8.0.2. It talks directly to the internet, there is no email relay or host, or whatever. Everything seemed fine and I should mention our regular email servers are still at 7.0.3 and so are most of our clients, so I was watching it pretty closely. This was just a few days ago, but I guess I wasn’t watching it closely enough until some users said they weren’t getting emails from some external addresses. Sent a few test emails from my gmail, yahoo and hotmail accounts and everything routed. But then I started looking at the log more closely and I do see where some domains are connecting to our server, sending a message and then POOF! nothing happens to the message. The log says it’s received, but then nothing happens after that. Nothing gets routed, there is no email stuck in the mail.box files, they simply just vanish as far as I can tell. I’ve restarted the router process, rebooted the server, etc. No luck. Strange thing is for one domain I saw this issue with it would route email if it was a new email, but it would disappear if it was a reply to a previous email from our domain. And it does route most internet email, it just seems that every now and then it will accept an email, but then there is no further trace of that email.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated…thanks!
