We had mail queueing up - particularly inbound - on our two SMTP servers (Domino 6.5.4FP2). The console was unresponsive after a while and rebooting the server didn’t help for very long. We tried some of the other recommendations such as NOTES.INI variables and turning pipelining off, but this didn’t work.
We disabled our three mail rules and rebooted the servers. Immediately the service returned to normal. So we have more spam now but at least its being delivered…
