We have two Domino server on 6.02.cf2, both server are running fine, except one server is not routing SMTP mail to the other 6.0.2 CF2 server. Lotus Notes base mail, regualr mail is routing fine.

I have update the DA db, have created a new mail.box, stop and restart bothe smtp and the mail router.

No luck, any help,

Carlos,

try typing “tell router show” at the server console. This should give you an idea of what is causing the routing to hold up. If you’re still stuck, post the results here and maybe we can help!

Thamks all for replying, Problem resolved.

  1. Replace the Admin4.nsf with the most current one fromthe latest server built. “Don’t know still if this has anything to with the issues”

  2. Updated the design on our DA db, with the new R6 DA template.

  3. Restarted the server and smtp mail seen to be routing again.

If any issue come up I will posted here!

I have something similar, basically anything sent to a variantaddress@fulldomain.com doesnt work. Although an exact match does!

ie if it says firstname.surname@domain.com in the internet address field and you send to it, it works. BUT send to initialsurname@domain.com it doesnt!

Ive tried the above but nothing works.

Are you getting any errors?

Are both servers set to route SMTP mail in their server documents?

In the configuration document of both servers (Router/SMTP > Basics tab) do you have “Servers within the local Notes domain are reachable via SMTP over TCPIP” set to Always?

In the same place on the configuration document of both servers is “SMTP allowed within the local internet domain” set to Enabled?

Can you telnet to the SMTP port on the server that isn’t routing SMTP mail?

Those are some preliminary troubleshooting steps that should help you narrow down where the problem is, I hope it helps.
