E-mail when either sent from our Notes Domain or returned from a distant host’s domain via a reply used to be displayed as
Notes defined “short name” as in PAB
ex. choffme@newdomain.com
After upgrading to Domino 6.0.1, the addressing has changed to the following format
choffme.NEW_DOMAIN@newdomain.com
The mail still comes and goes just fine in this new format, but, we are getting lots of questions about email addresses changing, etc from customers. Does anyone know where to change the internet e-mail formatting? Thanks.
Subject: SMTP mail addressing format changed after upgrade to Domino 6.0.1
Select the Configuration tab in the Domino Administrator.Select Domains in the Messaging task.
Select your company domain under the Global Domain (if no domain exists, create one)
Select Edit Domain
Select the Conversions tab
In the Local part formed from: [Short Name]
Subject: Upgrade from wich version?
If you’ve upgraded from 4.6.x, check if you have a global domain document. On the tab ‘conversions’ you can configure how the address format of outgoing smtp mail should look.
Subject: RE: Upgrade from wich version?
Thanks for the response, but, I checked and found that I already have a Global domain document defined dor our domain and “short” name is specified. We are not running LDAP on our servers. Any other ideas? Thanks.
Subject: Check the Configuration - Mime - Advanced - Advanced Outbound Message Option
Check the ‘RFC822 handling phrase’.
It could be that this is set to: “Remove phrase”
