SMTP inbound time out issue

Sorry this is my first post.Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I have Domino R6.5 running on an NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.

I recently started using a network monitoring software package to watch services on all my machine (Nagios) The issue that this software has revealed was that The SMTP service on domino on average is taking in access of 8 seconds to respond and some time even over 20 seconds.

Using statics I am not seeing a large volume of inbound connections. What can I do to decrease the amount of delay in the response of the SMTP service?

It hapens to me too and i don.t know what can be.I’ve changed same parameter like Verify connecting hostname in DNS and verify sender’s domain in DNS, but the problm persist. i thougth it was cause of the high cpu use of the server, but when that comes down the time of response is high too.

Have you resolved the problem?
