Hi,
How do I configure SMTP authentication (with user name and password) in NAB for clients connecting from outside the network, using outlook express.
I have tried Internet Ports > Mail (SMTP inbound) > authentication option (Name & password) in Server document, Didn’t work for me.
Any help please.

The Ports tab is where you want to enable it. Did you restart the SMTP task/server after changing the server port setting?
Also, did you change the server’s relay checking (in the server config document) to allow relay of mail from authenticated users?

Restarted the SMTP Task. relay was open for authenticated users.
figured out later that i had configured inbound connection control already for spam blockage… removal of that fixed it… (clumsy me 
I just wanted to learn if these are the only configuration needed to allow SMTP authentication, Internet ports and relay for authenticated users…
