In preparation for an upgrade to 7.0.3 I have added the upgrade kit to our Smart Upgrade database and added an explicit (Beta) policy to test the smart upgrades. The Smart Upgrade database is now showing a number of people are running the smart upgrade (or trying to) even though the explicit policy assigned does not have an entry for Smart Upgrade. The Smart Upgrade shows the desktop policy document as the explicit policy and shows "Deploy Vesrion " as blank. Triggered from Menu is “No”. What is triggering the Smart Upgrade to occur? How can I disable this without removing the smart upgrade kit?
We have a similar situation here. We have a valid Smartupgrade kit document completed. We have a policy created that references the kit, and we’ve assigned the policy to only 2 users. When I enable the kit, random people throughout the company get prompted to upgrade. After I disabled the kit, people were still getting prompted, and I had to amend the ACL to exclude everyone except the admin account. Have you had any luck with your situation?
I believe that if you set the ACL on the Smart Upgrade database to not allow access, the process will not work because no-one can access it. The only way for the Smart upgrade process to work is for upgraders to have access to the database.
