I am currently in the process of using SmartUpgrade to upgrade the Notes client from 7.0.2 to 8.5, however I cannot find a upgrade kit on Rapid Application Development Platform | HCL Domino.
I know it can and has been done, so can anyone point me in the right direction?
Subject: You need to use a Full Install Kit when upgrading between major releases
I think you are looking for an incremental installer and there is none between 7.0.2 and 8.5… You either point to the full 8.5 Install kit you’ve placed on a network shared drive all your Notes Clients have access to or you attach the web kit for 8.5 for those users without access to the network share or both.

Do you have a SmartUpgrade database setup on your home/mail server? Once there, you can create a new kit that will allow you to upgrade from 7.02 to 8.5. I can give you the specific parameters I used if you need them.
