Has anyone tried out SmartCloud Notes? Is it just a Domino Hosting service with Sametime / Quickr etc thrown in? Or is it a dumbed down version with all the granularity in config settings taken away? And what does it cost?
I went to the information page about it and there’s just a load of sales speak. I clicked on the Start a trial button and it took me to the SmartCloud Engage trial page - is SmartCloud Engage the same?
I clicked on the Request a quote link, filled out the form and asked all these questions, but typical IBM - I heard nothing. Why am I not surprised Microsoft is taking over?

To answer your first question, this is a SaaS, so no administration required, aside integration with your existing Domino Domain (if you got one) and other user related stuff.
Subject: Full blown Notes
The way it was explained to us, SmartCloud Notes is full-blown Notes except the server is in IBM’s cloud instead of in your building. You can hit SC Notes with any supported browser or Notes client.
Pricing is ala carte, you can have some or all of your users in the cloud. If you run custom apps, tho, you need to have an on-premise server.
If you want the social stuff, that is where Engage comes in.
