I’m trying to implement Smart Upgrade.The servers version are 8.0.1, everything is setup following instructions on the help database.

I can not get my client to find a matching kit!

Client version 8.0 (Version 20070803.1143, Notes Basic Release 8.0) tryed changing Source version in the desktop policy settings and in the Smart Upgrade db without getting a match.

The kit attached to the Smart Upgrade db is IBM Lotus Notes Client Basic Configuration Upgrade Kit 8.0 to 8.0.1 For Windows XP and Vista Swedish

C1AW0SV.exe (160 MB).

By the way nothing happens whens log in in, just trying the Tools - Smart upgrade menu on the client.

Subject: Try this…

Check the Destination version parameter - some of the manuals/books say this should be R8, but I couldn’t get it to work unless this was set to ‘Release V8.0.1’ (without the quotes) - and that might behave a bit differently depending on what version you are upgrading to.

Subject: No luck

Tried blanking the “Deploy version” so it checks the version on the Smart Upgrade database.The “About Lotus Notes…” in my client says:

Version 8.0

Version 20070803.1143

Notes Basic Release 8.0

Tried all values, nothing works, it does not find a matching kit!

Tried even Release 8.0, Release V 8.0, Release V8.0 and 8.0.

Out of ideas…

Nothing in the documentation says which values exactly should be used (Version 8 all others not interesting).

How do i get my client to find a matching kit?

Very frustrated!!!
