Smart Upgrade 7.0.2 to 7.0.3

Hello,

We are trying to setup the Smart Upgrade utility in order to upgrade from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3 lotus notes client.

We had done the same thing from 7.0.1 to 7.0.2 (with SUSetRunAs) and everything worked fine.

So we used the same SmartUprade.nsf and created a new upgrade kit from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3 (again with SUSetRunAs).

Although we are using exactly the same setup it doesn’t work. In fact if we go to File->tools->Notes Smart Upgrade is says that “There were no matching kits found in the Smart Upgrade database…”!

We have tried setting “*” to “Source version” but it’s happening the same thing.

The strange thing is that if we configure it to install “All client” (admin, designer, etc), then it’s working!! Obviously we don’t want this setup to our normal users (we need “Notes client only”).

Any ideas?

Have you ensure the client type matches. e.g. Notes client only matches what is installed v Notes/Designer/Admin client

Thanks for the tip…nevertheless:

I downloaded the 7.0.3 (client only, no admin) but again when I configured the upgrade kit as “Notes client only” it didn’t work: 7.0.2 client said that there is no update.

Anyway, I used the client-only installation file and configured the upgrade kit as “All client (admin, designer, etc…)” and it worked!! (of course it didn’t install any admin client, which is a good thing, because the installation didn’t have it in the first place)

Now I’m about to deploy it to all the users…
