We are using Domino 8.5.1 and are working with clients 7.0.4 and 8.5.1 and 8.5.2 on Windows XP SP3 clients. When we are opening an attachment on a client it can take lots of time to open it in the application. Sometimes it’s a lot quicker. We dont know why. We tried it on a new system with a version of Windows XP SP3 with all the updates available, only office 2007 with all updates and Client 8.5.2. Nothing more nothing less. Same expierence.
We see that sometimes the saving of the temporary file, in the temporary workfolder wich notes create, for the application is very quick, but sometimes it terrible slow (same file). I checked it with processmonitor and i noticed one time a saving time of 6 seconds and another time 40 seconds.
With one client we got lucky, we replaced the 7.0.4 client with the 8.5.1. basic client and now it seems consistently fast. So we did the same with another client, but that one stayed slow.
When we do a save of the same file in the temporary folder of notes, it is as quick as it should be.
Does anyone recognise this behaviour and what can we do to get rid of it??
