After spending a few days trying to work out why a simple Notes form would hang IE7 on Vista, but open fine in Firefox I found that disabling the Skype add-in stopped the problem.
The form is just a username and password field, with a few hidden text fields, and a button with some formula for a dblookup, yet still it kept crashing IE.
