Single Sign On, Encrypted Emails in Notes

All,

If NOT using Single Sign On with Notes/Inotes.

You can view encrypted emails in Inotes by importing your notes id via Preferences>Security>Import ID . Although it seems you have to do this ahead of time or carry your notes id with you…errr. no.

How do you import the notes ID file into Inotes if you have signle sign on?

Inotes doesn’t let you do this since you cannot share the ID file.

Also once turned on users have forgotten their Notes passwords.

Therefore options seem to be :

Not to have single sign on.

Use password recovery to create a new notes id password.

Neither of which are viable options when you have lots of users now requiring this facility.

Any other ways of doing this?

Thanks

Subject: Another possibility

Are you using Notes Shared Login (the new 8.5 feature) for your Notes SSO? If so, you can use the ‘Copy ID’ capability described in the wiki article below to create a password-protected notes id which you can import into your mail file.http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Copying_a_NSL-Enabled_Notes_ID_to_a_New_System

Another possibility (new in 8.5.1) is to use the ID Vault/iNotes integration to automatically import your ID into your mail file. You must know the password for your ID in the Vault in order to do this.

Please respond if you have more questions.

Subject: New ID

Thanks for replying.

I’ve been using the wiki advice when transfer users to new laptops.

I’ll have to check out the ID Vault.

Both answers seem somewhat long winded especially when you have large numbers to do it for.

my next email begins…dear helpdesk…

Thanks
