I was very surprised when I discovered this sentence in the article “Using Domino / DB2 integration features to enhance the functionality and performance of Domino applications” (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Using%20DominoDB2%20integration%20features%20to%20enhance%20Domino%20applications%20V7.pdf/$file/Using%20DominoDB2%20integration%20features%20to%20enhance%20Domino%20applications%20V7.pdf): "But when the data is stored in separate, independent documents it is then not easy, using standard Domino application techniques, to combine data from these documents in a single row in a view."How is possible to made it?
Subject: “not easy” is not the same thing as “possible”
I think you are interpreting that sentence to mean that there is a way to do this in a regular Notes database but that it is just difficult to do. This is not what’s meant by “not easy” here. This is not easy in the same sense that it is not easy to flap your arms and fly to the moon.
If you need to combine data from different documents in the same row of a view, you either have to use NSFDB2 and DAVs and QVs (in other words, not a normal Notes database) or you have to arrange for all the data you want to display to be copied into a single document (in other words, not really in different documents).

It’s a pity but thank you for perfect explanation ![]()
