In addition to the single logon function being unstable / just does not work we are experiencing cases, where the Windows logon freezes after typing in username and password. The only solution to recover from this situation is a restart.
Anybody else experiencing this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dieter
Subject: Single Logon - System Freeze
In addition to the single logon function being unstable / just does not work
Details?
Was this an upgrade from R5 Single Logon? Please verify that the following value does not exist:
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
GinaDLL=ngina.dll
Subject: RE: Single Logon - System Freeze
David,
We checked one of our upgraded systems and it actually had the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon GinaDLL=ngina.dll
in the registry. We removed the key and will watch, whether the system will lock up again.
Thanks for your tip.
Subject: Working ok here…
Hi Dieter.
I’m using Notes 6.0 with Windows XP Pro on a Toshiba laptop with no problems.
Also, have many clients using it with XP Pro and XP Amateur with no issue. Not sure about W2K.
If you’re having problems logging onto Windows (i.e. before Notes has entered the picture), I would start investigating the problem there.
Good luck.

Subject: Problem only when Single Logon active
Richar,
Thanks for your response. We have one XP system and Single Logon works fine on that XP system. The problems we have are with NT and W2K.
There is no problem at all with login on without Lotus Notes Single Logon being active. The freeze problem only occurs when the Single Logon service is running.
