Is notes using the old password still?
Often (depending on registration and policies) notes can require a “harder” password than windows. My users often change windows first, and find that notes does not like the password, it is too easy.
I always suggest changing the notes password first, and allowing notes to change the windows password. This I have tested, and works well. When logged in, as long as synching is enabled, notes can change the windows password.
However, I have never heard that windows can change the notes password (particulary if notes is not running)… maybe someone else can advise you better on this, but I would change notes pw first.

Hello Jade,
thanks for your answer.
The password for Notes changed, while I change the windows password. So I enter the same password for Windows and Notes.
As long as I know all the other users in our network doesn’t have this problem (and I should know because I’m the admin).
Any other hints?
Thanks in advance
Andreas

Yes, password changing is a two-way street. Windows>>Notes and Notes>>Windows. A service runs automatically when you start windows that monitors for password changes either direction.
We have advised our users to change their Notes, not their Windows passwords so we won’t run into the issue of passwords being rejected due to poor quality.
So far all is working fine on versions 6.5.1 and 6.5.4, however I did notice that if you are using Active Directory for Windows authentication, Client Single Logon only works if you logon to Windows while connected to the network. So laptop user may not benefit.
Also, if you are an administrator or developer and you switch ID’s, the function will break until you manually stop and restart the service and reboot.
