I am currently designing a database to run on the web (via IE.6).
I have a Single Category view, which works fine when it runs on the value of 1 field.
But what I need is for the view to run off 2 fields.
so, Single Category:
instead of: Field1
it needs to show values for both Field1 & Field2 as the single category fields.
Unfortunately I am not getting anywhere with it.
Sorry if I have not explained this very well.
Does anyone have any ideas for me please?
Many thanks
Subject: Single Category View
This will not work, as it is not “single category”. A single category view does just that… shows all entries in the one category that matches its computation. It will never show more than one top-level category.

Thank you for your response, I guess I am going to have to find another way around it.

John,
If your view is
Cars
Audi
BMW
Cadillac
Trucks
F150
Tacoma
Then change it so that it reads like this:
Cars>>Audi
Cars>>BMW
Cars>>Cadillac
Trucks>>F150
Trucks>>Tacoma
In other words, your view will have many more categories because it will concatenate your two fields. Now your form that has the embedded view using showsinglecategory will likewise concatenate your two fields using “>>” (or whatever) as the separator.
I’ve used this many times and it’s easy. The only drawback is that your view gets bigger because it now has so many categories.
