Simple routing query

Hi all,

I received a message today.

It was addressed as \OU\O

(OU being one of our OU’s, O being our org)

I do not want to send a test message to find out, but how does notes process this?

I can only think that it has sent it to everyone in the OU & all groups that contain this OU.

I don’t administer the OU and am not certified by it. But I am a member in their NotesAdmin group, which also contains other names with the OU certifier. This group appears if you do a group search OU=ou\O=o

Don’t want to risk sending everybody an email, so if anybody has a definitive answer that would be great.

Cheers in Advance

We had a user do this accidentally…twice. If you send a mail to /OU/O, it will send a mail to everyone in that OU.

This is true. If a user addresses a mail message to the OU/O, then the router will assume it is to go to everyone with that OU/O.
