Signature & Font

We are attempting to make some slight customizations to the mail 8.5.1 template.

One of the requests from our executives is to use the default font of Times New Roman. We were able to successfully do this throughout the mail template except for the signature.

Since the signature is now rich text we are not able to find a way to make the default to Times New Roman, the same as the body. Is there any way to program this in the signature to be a new default text?

We have been able to take that text and make it a none rich text field but then graphics won’t appear that people program into their signature.

Our main concern is new hires that just type into that field and the font won’t match the rest of the memo…

Any ideas?

I think you are missing my point. … We can have users individually change their font, however we want the change to be global.

Therefore a new user doesn’t walk in the company and just type in that signature field and use the default font. We want everyone in the company to use the Standard Times New Roman Font size for everything in an email.

This gives us the uniform corporate look rather than having users being able to use different colors and font sizes we want them all to be black times new roman, if we can’t force them not to change the rich text font size then we would liek to at least default it to Times New Roman.

(We also want them to be able to put a “corporate log” based on a role). Therefore the idea of changing that field upon entry to a rich text to a plain text will not work.

so you can include a new field underneath Body to contain the signature (and disable native Notes signature function!).

Subject: Use an HTML file

You can circumvent by generating an HTML file for each user that comes with the right look and import it into each user’s mailbox.

OOPS sorry, Just checked and in 8.5 this feature seems to be gone. Why get rid of something that worked fine and came in handy to manage users ?

Version 8.51 has an option to add a VCF business card into the signature field. However, it seems like a policy cannot ‘block’ changes to this.

I suggest you create an agent that incorporates every user’s signature into the Profile document of their mailbox. The profile name is 'Calendarprofile’and the field where the signature is ‘Signature_Rich’

If you wish to make it impossible for users to change the signature, you need to create a mail template where this field is ‘Computed’ and not an input field.

Subject: Notes already has the tool

As it says when setting up the signature. If you want anything special, create it in a standard Rich Text body, and then cut-paste it into your Preferences / Signature field. Works fine for me.
