Show Today's Date in a View

I tried to find this in other questions, but could not get quite the same thing. I have a database when opened, shows links to monthly events and one links to Today’s Activities. When I click on Today’s Activities and the view comes up, we would like it to some where in the view say today’s date. I tried to put an action on the action bar, but that did not seem to work! Sorry, I have been thrown into database building for the entire company and am learning as I go. Any help would be appreciated.

You should definitely go for an embedded view.

Create a form with computed for display field ‘SaveOptions’ and put the value as “0”. Make this a hidden field. (This will restrict to save the composed document, if user performs save operation.)

Create a table with one row and create a computed text field ‘CmpDate’. Put the value as @Text(@Today) which display today’s date when you compose this form.

In the next line, on the empty page Create an embedded view from menu. Select the view you want to display here (Today’s Activities). Right click on this embedded view and go to properties, make sure that you select the width & height as 100% in the 2nd tab of the properties. If you want you can check “Show selection Margin” etc…

Change your formula for your hotspot or link on left hand side so that when you click on the link, it will compose this form and users will not know that this is a form. It looks like a view but with Today’s date on the top.

the action bar should work fine

In the properties for the action, be sure and place the formula in the Label field and not the Name field.

Just leave the Name field blank or

In the Label field place the formula:

@text(@Today) OR @Text(@Date(@Now))

You could add this to your Title formula @Date(@Now), and that would show you something like ‘11/11/2006’ so your Title formula could be something like:

"Activities for " + @Date(@Now)
