I have a normal mail database based on the StdR8Mail template.
I’d like to show a simple custom view in the browser without the iNotes application frame around it.
In Domino 7, to show a view named XXX, I simply had to build a “$$ViewTemplate for XXX” form with a $$ViewBody field in that.
In Domino 8 (or with the Version 8 mail template?), the view content is not displayed on the web.
Can anybody point me to what I am missing? Thank you very much in advance!
Subject: Re: Show custom view in Notes 8 mail database
So, no answers? No ideas? Unlucky me.
Well, what DOES work (as I found out) is setting up a totally different database and embedding the requested mail database view (e.g. in a page). That’s of course not a real solution as it poses a hundred different problems. But at least, the view of the database is displayed.
If anybody came up with a nicer solution (or an explanation of what is going wrong), I’d be very happy.
Subject: embedded view in $$ViewTemplate of iNotes Mail
Just to let you know you’re not alone - I’m having a similar problem with a blackberry view I created in a mail db - after it was updated to DWA I can no longer see the embedded view. Still trying to figure out a workaround - (that doesn’t involve a separate db.)
