Show console on server during updates

We are running domino as a service and we don’t see the console on the server. What’s the easiest way to temporarily undo this configuration if I am making changes to domino that I know will require a response at the console. So basically for one restart I want to see the console on the server, and then go back to our current setup.

I figured to disable the lotus domino service under control panel, but when I manually kick off lotus domino, will that just kick the service off again ?

There are different reasons on why the console might not be showing. The best way to get the console is to start Domino as an application instead of a service. To start Domino as an application simply kick off nserver.exe from you domino directory.
