Shared views

Hello All,

I am creating a database with many users. They are filling in a form and when they open the database I only want them to see the forms they have created. So I want to put a selection in the view that only shows them their documents. Is it true that I have to create a Shared, private on first use view. I would prefer to avoid this.

If I place the view in a page should this work ok. I am going to be using @Username in the selection.

I had this working before but I can’t get it to work for me again .

What you need is an embedded view with a single category.

Embed a view that is categorised by username onto a form. The form should have a field (either hidden or not) computed to the current username, and the single category option is set to the field name.

That’s it, although this of course isn’t security, if you want to hide other peoples’ documents completely you should use reader fields, but I’m assuming that’s not what’s needed.
