Shared mail box signature

Hello all,Hopefully someone here can help with the below.

I have a customer that has a shared mail box that is accessed by about a dozen or so people. In that mail box, the owner updates the mail signature every couple of weeks. We have found that after she has updated it, it seems to revert back to the previous version most of the time. No-one else is updating it.

What I think is happening is other people have it open when she updated and saved it. Then when they have closed the mail box, it has overwritten her update. We have pretty much confirmed this by updating after hours when all other users were off it.

However the above is not a viable option due to the extended hours that the other staff work.

Creating a html file on a shared drive that all can access is not an option.

They are using a customised template based on 8.5.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Were other users delegated to access the shared mail box? If those users do not need to have rights to change the preference of the mail box then you can make this work via ACL. Change the access of this users to “Author” then enable the check box to “Create documents”. In this way, this users still can send, move, etc. the emails but cannot change the preference of the mail box.

This has worked and done exactly what we wanted. Thank you.

However, we have a number of other shared mail boxes that do not have to use this work around which is rather frustrating. Never mind, we’ll just have to live with it.
