Have 5 users who access a shared mail file named ASST@xxx.com. These 5 users insist when a mail sender chooses THEIR name from address book & send the email, it ends up in the ASST mail box.
THe users are NOT in any ACL group.
The users have their own Notes entry in address book as well.
Is there an agent that can be coded that can trigger on event to do this?
thank you
Robbie
Subject: don’t take their word for it
did you test it to see what happens when you send an e-mail to 1 of these 5 users? does it go to the user or to the asst mailbox? Check the asst person doc to see if the 5 users names are in the FullName field. If so this could cause that to happen. Make sure the 5 user’s person docs do not point to the asst.nsf.
Subject: shared mailfile
Yes I tested it. when addressed to the user mail went to the user. When addressed to ASST it went there.
Don’t think they even understood it, they insisted other senders addressing mail to them in that way.
I suggested a mail forward be set in their person document and they agreed however when I did it failed.
users internet name: kelly@gdls.com
mailbox name: asst@gdls.com
set up as kelly@asst@gdls.com failed!
Do I need to remove her kelly@gdls.com from her internet field?
thank you

Subject: Mail rules?
Do the users in question have any mail rules in their mail files? Are there any server side mail rules that could account for the issue?
Subject: email addresses
no, we have no server rules set and the users do not have mail rules either.
thank you.
