Shared Address Book

I have several users that want to share an address book. I know I can create the address book on a server with the address book template. How do I configure the clients to add it to their available address books? In the preferences it wants me to browse the local machine for additional address books.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Dave,

Put your address book on the server and create a local replica for each user. You can setup their replication (with the location document) to automatically replicate every x hours so that they stay current with any changes anyone else has made.

Dave,

You can always just create the shared address book on your server and give them a local replica on each workstation – on their replica page you can set it up to automatically replicate ‘x’ number of hours so that they stay current with any changes anyone else has entered.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping there was a better way than that, but that’ll have to do. Thanks!

In the User Preferences under Mail | Local address books you can try the syntax ServerName!!addressbook.nsf

e.g.

names.nsf, serverA/OU/O!!sharedaddresses.nsf

The problem with this is that the client will try to use that address book in connected or disconnected mode.
