Shared actions -vs- Template version -vs- Client version

Hi

I have just created a “Print and Send” shared action to add into our mail template and am having mixed failed/success…

Our server is 6.0.3

The R6 mail template is 6.0.3

My client/administrator/disegner build is 6.0.3

USERS client builds are 6.0.1

I can run the shared action fine.

Users can see the Send and Print button, but nothing happens when they click it.

A N Other 6.0.3 can run the shared action fine.

SO, I installed a 6.0.1 designer and amended the 6.0.3 template. Now…

I cannot even see the shared action button.

Users can see the Send and Print button, but nothing happens when they click it.

Is this really as poor as I think it is??? The users have no problem in using the 6.0.3 mail template (unmodified).

I have found a workaround but think that it is not the right thing to do. I CANNOT use a SHARED ACTION but I CAN create an action specific to the form that works.

Be shure, if you use tempplates that your $ACRTIOS are updated, wen design refresh. sometimes the whole actions will detach an you will have wrong older code in all your views ans so on. perform a design refresh to rewirite the actions.
