I have just accepted the position as “requirements coordinator” for the APLS_NOTE project at SHARE.
It is my hope that as many people (and companies) as possible who are SHARE members and are interested in the “future of Notes” will participate in this valuable channel for communicating between users and IBM.
If your site is currently a SHARE member and you are not already a participant in the SHARE - Notes “requirements process” and would like to join (the process is entirely electronically handled), please review and follow the information at:
http://home.netcom.com/~wmklein/IBM/How%20to%20join%20-%20NOTE.htm
I hope to see as many as possible of you “electronically” in this process.
Subject: Sorry for being dense, but what is SHARE? And what is the APLS_NOTE project?
Subject: Sorry for not being clearer in my post
SHARE - is one of IBM’s “user groups”. Its primarily (ot at least historically) for its mainframe (z/OS, z/VM, VSE) type user installations - but in recent years it has expanded its membership requirements.
APLS_NOTE is the (internal?) name of its “project” (group of people and presentations) that deals with Notes, Domino, and related software.
for more information on SHARE, see:
www.share.org
The “requirements process” is a method for user to submit “enhancement requests” to IBM (for any relevant products). These are (electronically) discussed by all members who are “signed-up” for that specific product area - and then they vote on them to “prioritize” what they want IBM to work on the most.
I hope this helps.
Subject: Thanks. Are you aware of the Partner Forum for IBM/Lotus Business partners?
The IBM’er responsible for it is Gloria Flaherty/North Reading/IBM. We discuss “Wish List” items in quite detail there.
