@SetViewInfo and Regular Views in Outline do not work together?

Hi all, would love some help on this one.

I have just adjusted my Outline to use @SetViewInfo to scale down the # of views in my db. Since adding this code, regular views in the Outline are showing no documents and ‘category not found’ appears at the status bar. Any Ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Lisa

If you search for Guirard and setviewinfo, you will find that I’ve answered this question here already.

Andre

Thanks so much for the reply and sorry to make you feel like you are repeating yourself. I do not know what I searched on the first time, but I did not get more then 20 hits and none of them helped.

I have a db working successfully that I did in 2005(probably from one of your posts that time too !) without the QueryClose, so I was confused if that applied to me and frustrated why I needed to do that ?

You had a lot of hits, and I am on lonely old loser dial up :slight_smile: So I just want to clarify from all your posts that if I put this:

@SetTargetFrame(“framename”);

@UpdateFormulaContext;

@SetViewInfo([SetViewFilter];“”;“columnname”;@True)

In all my query closes of just the views I am using for the SetViewInfo that it will refresh back and my normal views will work as normal ? Do I have to use a valid columnname or anything will cause it to reset ?

I currently have this :

dept:=“Accounting”;

col:=“Department”;

@SetTargetFrame(“Right”);

@Command([OpenView];“(V. Rowntree)”);

@UpdateFormulaContext;

@SetViewInfo([SetViewFilter];dept;col;1;1)

In the outline entries and just the named element to the view in the regular ones.

I am asking and not testing right now as my boss is giving a demo of the app I want to add it to, NOT a good time to start playing.

Thanks again

Lisa

@SetViewInfo remembers the last choice, so as you switch views it keeps trying to filter the new views. You can verify that this is the issue by exiting and then reopening your db. If the problem disappears upon re-entry, then that suggests this is indeed the issue.

You can feed @SetViewInfo a bogus value which will cause it to display all docs. You can do that upon switching views, I guess. I like the feature, but find it a bit unusable because of issues such as this one.
