Setting up the DAMO client for Domino xSP mode

We recently set up a Domino server in xSP mode (hosting) to deliver mail functionalities to a certain group of our users.

One of our users asked to have the ability of using the DAMO client to connect to the server because of some features which aren’t available via IMAP or POP3 (calendaring, …)

Howevern when I try to set up the client I always receive the error message that the “User or Server name can not be found in the Domino Directory”.

The same message is received when trying to configure a Lotus Notes Client for that user.

Does anybody know if and how we can bypass this message ?

Hi,I think that it’s not possible to bypass this step, because it’s necessary to access the mail file.

The domino server is reachable (via ping) ? The user name is correct ?

Subject: DAMO configuration

The server is reachable using a ping command. When configuring the Notes client I see that there is a connection with the server.

The username is also correct ( can access using the same name via DWA).

It only seems that there is a problem with a name lookup probably due to the setting DISABLE_TYPEAHEAD=1 which I can modify in the notes.ini

However I’ll have a similar issue when configuring the Lotus Notes 8.0.2 Client.

Have you configured a client for this user previously ? Have you a print screen of the person document ?

I tried with other users as well and all are giving the same result.

I don’t have a screenshot available but the person document seems to be OK.

Personanly, I think it ahs something to do with a search/namelookup which isn’t working like it should

I think more that the problem with the retrieve of the person into the domain but not with a lookup like in the client… Which form of the person spedify you (Short Name, Fully Qualified Name,…) ?

The Full name is used:

FirstName LastName/Organization

I tried using only rge first name and Last name without the organization.

Unfortunately, this didn’t work neither.

When you try to configure the client with the id file, have you the same problem ?

Using the Lotus Notes Client instead of DAMO, when I configure the client without making a connection to the server and afterwards manually create the location documents, it seems to work.

However, when I try to connect to the server during the setup configuration, I receive the same error message in Notes as in DAMO.

The username, how does it look like ?

xSP needs full Notesname as Fullname/Org
