@SetTargetFrame not opening view in another database

This is for a Notes Client only

I have database “db1” which has a frameset “fs1”

Frameset “fs1” has two frames “f1Left” and “f1Right”

In f1Left, I have a page with an embedded outline.

An outline entry in this embedded outline has the following formula for an “Action” to open a view “viewProduct” in database “db2” as follows:

Server:=@Subset(@DbName;1);

FilePath:=@Subset(@DbName;-1);

SubFolder:=@Left(FilePath;“\”);

Dbase:=@If(SubFolder=“”;“db2.nsf”; SubFolder+“\db2.nsf”);

@Command([OpenFrameset];“fs1”);

@SetTargetFrame(“f1Right”);

@Command( [FileOpenDatabase]; Server : Dbase;“viewProduct”)

I want the “viewProduct” view in db2 to open in frame “f1Right” which exisit in db1 when I click this OutlineEntry in frame “f1Left”

But, they open in a new window, which I do not want.

Any help is appreciated in advance to resolve this issue.

regards

Partha

Unfortunately that how it works. Try a workaround like this.

Create a TopFrame(only one frame) in db1.

Embed your current frameset into this.

Insert this formula into your link which will actually close the first frameset and open 2nd frameset of db2 in the TopFrame.

Create a frameset in db2, the way you want to see when you open this database thru the link in db1. Make sure when you click on the database, this frameset opens. OR change the logic as per your convenience, if you do not want to make the frameste open when you click on the database.

Server:=@Subset(@DbName;1);

FilePath:=@Subset(@DbName;-1);

SubFolder:=@Left(FilePath;“\”);

Dbase:=@If(SubFolder=“”;“db2.nsf”; SubFolder+“\db2.nsf”);

@Do(@Command([CloseWindow]); @Command([FileOpenDatabase]; Server : Dbase); @UpdateFormulaContext; @SetTargetFrame(“f1Right”); @Command([OpenView]; “viewProduct”))

This will close the current db1 frameset window in the TopFrame and opens db2 (which actually opens the frameset of this database in this TopFrame) and then sets the right frame to the view.

If you implement this, you may also design to go back to db1 by one of the links here as per the requirement with the part of the code above.

Code for a button that will open another database, a specific frameset, and a view inside the frameset:

When you use FileOpenDatabase by itself, it will not launch any framesets in the other database. To correct this problem:

@Command( [FileOpenDatabase]; “server” : “db.nsf” );

@UpdateFormulaContext;

@SetTargetFrame(“framenamehere”);

@Command([OpenView]; “viewname”; textToFind)
