Set up web users without NAB entry?

Hi-I would like to give password-protected access to a Notes database to a handful of users outside of my organization. Creating IDs in our NAB for outside people, however, is not an option.

Is there a way I can create my own secure, password protected application using Notes, without entering the names of the users in our NAB?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Create another nab where you only add external web users. Set up directory assistance to this nab.
