Set Environment Variable

Hi,I need to set an environment variable, WITHOUT a $ appended to it.

This needs to be in a button in an email, the idea was to do other things as well, but I’ve created for testing purposes a seperate button with just the following code in:.

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim ses As New NotesSession

'newSiebelFormPath="Siebel7Email.nsf"

'ses.setEnvironmentVar "SIEBELFORMPATH", newSiebelFormPath, True

ses.setEnvironmentVar "SIEBELFORMPATH", "Siebel7Email.nsf", True

End Sub

This code should set the environment variable SIEBELFORMPATH in the users notes.ini file, to ‘Siebel7Email.nsf’.

Why doesn’t this work? Please can someone help me, its driving me mad.

I just copied and pasted your code into a button and it worked perfectly

you may think it’s not working because you are opening the ini file and looking for the new value. The value won’t physically show up unitl you close the client and reopen it. The value does get set, though, even though you can see it.
