Before upgrade out servers to 6.52 should we install the software code. once code is installed, strip the initial notes.ini to bare minimum, then launch notes.ini, would this not cause the domino server to rebuild it’s notes environment? What are some ways of upgrading? Just installing over the top, the upgraded server may collect junk from previous installs. That’s what we are trying to avoid.

Normally Domino kaker a very clean update. We install the new Software Version over the existing one without problems. But make an backup of your notes.ini and all customized templates iwth the same name as the Domino System Templates. After the installation simply copy this back and restart the server.Bye

The reason I want to assume you are meaning a version upgrade is because an update is just that, an update. Just apply the update over top of your existing install. Been doing that for years.
