Server start takes long

Hello,

we use transaction logging on the server and after a crash it takes very long until the server starts.

Restart replay goes fast but than it takes 15 minutes or more until anything happens.

Any idea ?

Subject: about normal for AIX

we run on Solaris and it typically takes about 15 minutes for a server to come back up after any restart, not just a crash.

Subject: SyncML

You are using SyncML logging ?

I had this issue, and i fix it just deleting the syncml folder and putting the syncml off

tell traveler log syncml off

remember: delete the SyncML folder !

Subject: RE: SyncML

I’m not sure that the original post has anything to do with Traveler, but I’ll respond to this SyncML log post which is related to Traveler.

Traveler log ago moved the files under IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT which does NOT get scanned at startup. AND, Traveler now wraps the XML files (and zips them as it wraps), so the files are now bounded in size and number. Those two things should not make the files from Traveler an issue on restart/start.
