Server Side Include (SSI) Vs Subforms Question

Hello,

I have a subform containing all the html code for the top menu of my web site. This code is to be repeated on hundred of web pages that are located in around thirty Notes database.

So you imagine that I don’t want to copy/paste all this code in all my pages.

I was looking at Server Side Include (SSI)… but after making lots of searches on this forum, it seems impossible to make this work with Domino.

I then looked at Notes equivalent… which are subforms. It sure works… however, everything’s not perfect.

Example:

I made a template containing my menu subform. I then copied/pasted this subform in all my thirty something database (and I answered “yes” to the question about future inheritance). I then inserted this subform in all my forms. So far so good.

However, when I want to made a change in my menu, I have to modified the subform in my template… and then I have to refresh manually the design of all my 30 databases. This takes a lot of time.

Also, some other co-workers could be working on another design elements in the same template and didn’t want the change to be applied right now… but I had to in order to have my menu modification applied.

In other words, I don’t think subforms are that great for what I’m trying to do. I also don’t want to use frames… mainly for search engine optimization.

What I would like is a kind of way to “include” other pages/code… but by looking at answers on this forum, it doesn’t look like it’s possible.

Can someone help?

Thanks!

Pascal
