I’m conducting a server setup (additional server). The server ID file has been created a week ago, but the installation process stops at 20% with the error message that the server’s certificate has expired!
I examined the certificates in the ID file of the server concerned, but they are all current.
What am I doing wrong?
NOTE: I am working on the server via a remote link, but I can’t see how the connection’s slow response time could have anything to do with it.

Look at the server id’s properties (the ID file you’re trying to use) using an admin client (Configuration/ID Properties) and check the certificate in there. Is it possible the wrong year was entered? If so it’d mean recreating the ID with a current certifier ID.

That was the first thing I checked. But all the certificates – the certification authority, the international encryption, and the multi-purpose certificates – expire in after the turn of the next century (2105+).
I don’t see any reason that the installation could have come up with the error. The server ID had been created recently, and the expiry dates reflect that.
It must be just a simple thing that I am overlooking – but what???

Is the servers date/time right?

How do you mean, is the time/date right?Do you mean the date format on the physical machine? That server too has been recently installed, and as far as I know the date/time settings are the same (apart from the time zone, which is different).

I mean, have you accidentally set the physical servers date to something like 2097 or something like that.

Assuming is not your friend when troubleshooting. Check the time/date on the server…
Subject: RE: Server setup: Server certificate expired? It’s brand new
I just checked the date/time on the physical machine.
The year is 2007, the date is correct, the time zone is correct.(Singapore)
There is no reason why the server shouldn’t accept a certificate that expires in 2105.
Surely it cannot be a Y2K problem? All the dates are post-2K, and Notes doesn’t use date format that can hang on a 2-digit year… so comparing (20)07 with (21)05 should NOT be a problem???
